Chick Has a Shaky Head?

I'm not sure if this has been answered before, but one of my chicks seems to have issues with moving her neck. I've noticed that she seems uncoordinated with her head/neck whenever she moves it side to side, or up and down. Her head seems to shake slightly, even when she's holding still to look at something. She also puts her head all the way back when she drinks, and often goes in circles, which sometimes makes her bump into other chickens. Other than this, she seems to be a happy, healthy chick. She's about five weeks old, so I'm wondering if there's any way to fix this or if this is just a strange quirk of hers? She's our only chick who has this problem.

From your description, I would take a guess that she is exhibiting a neurological symptom called Wry Neck. This can be caused by vitamin deficiency, injury, sometimes genetics and disease like Marek's, Newcastle and Avian Lymphoid Leukosis.

You don't mention her breed or what you feed. I would make sure she is eating fresh chick starter and also give her 400IU vitamin E daily along with 1/4 tablet human B-Complex vitamins. You can find these at any Walmart or pharmacy. Give her a little egg daily as well.

My chicken is a Silkie/Polish cross. She could have been trampled or hit her head. The other chickens are fine.

I started supplementing oxbow critical care to her chick starter. Which has lots of vitamins.
I supplemented Vet Rx to her water.
I applied vitamin E oil to her feet legs and face.
I brought her inside the house.

I'm sorry that you are having trouble.
Can you please post some photos of your chicken?
How old is she?
If she is suffering from the symptom Wry Neck, you can try vitamins to see if that helps her.

Eliminate the VetRx, not sure about the Oxbow, probably eliminate that as well.
The Vitamin E needs to be administered orally, not on the skin. Give 400IU Daily of Vitamin E and 1/4 tablet of B-Complex.
See that she's eating her chick starter, you can offer it made into a mash as well. Give her some scrambled egg daily too.
