Chick has deformed foot/toes. Help!

Good job on the boot. I would either use some water with sav a chick (electrolyte) in it, or some sugar water and make sure he/she is drinking. I'm assuming he can't get to the water on his own, so you'll need to dip the tip of his beak in a little capfull of water (careful not to get it in his nose) or try a feeding with a dropper of water. He probably would benefit most from the sav a chick.

I will definitely try this. She was dry enough that I moved her to the broody and she has her own section with food and water and she is happier to be down there I think in the shavings. She seems to have better footing. I did dip her beak in the water a few times so she drank but I think she is too weak to get over to the food so I will try that. Where do they sell it? We have a place here called Tractor Supply that sells all things chicks/pet food/ farm stuff so I am guessing they will have some. I will run over there today and if not i will try some sugar water.

I buy mine from Tractor Supply, just make sure it's the electrolyte one and not the other. There are two different ones.

Great thanks, Amy! I am going to make a run over there now. Hopefully once the chick gains some strength she'll try to walk more. I'm hoping that even if she can't walk for the next 24 hours and I have to feed her that at least the booty will straighten the toes out and I can take it off and she'll have more strength and stability

I'm not sure how much I should give her at a time and how often. When I feed her I do it slowly with little drops at once but she seems to spit them up sometimes almost and now her whole body is starting to lean to one side which makes me think she's losing strength completely in that side. I don't know it's not looking great for her :/ She's over 24 hours old now

If she's "spitting" it out I'd stop. Just enough so she's getting a couple drops regularly. I would put a little on a spoon dip the tip of the beak, enough you know that she's getting a little bit and repeating probably every half hour through the day if it's possible.

Okay thanks Amy I will try the spoon since she isn't liking the dropper very much. I've been every hour or so but I will give her less at once and more often now. I really hope this little fuzzy makes it!

Sadly, she didn't make it. :'( I think there was something else wrong besides her messed up feet. She was weak since birth and for the last 24 hours she has barely been able to stand up. The last few hours she was almost lifeless and as I just went to feed her I dipped her beak and she starting foaming bubbles and then passed away right in my hands. After I had my little cry I took her booties off to bury her and the sad part was that her toes were already corrected. Maybe I should have fed her less or handled her less or taken the booties off sooner but I just think maybe she wasn't fully developed and just very weak. Either way, it's heartbreaking but I thank you everyone for your help. Luckily I still have 11 beautiful babies to love.
