Chick has outer toes fused to middle ones what to do?

Quote:
Be sure to keep her on a strict diet when she's older. Cornish X grow so fast they need to have their daily weight gained monitored very carefully if they're to be kept as pets. If fed freestyle, she'll die at around 6 months because of a heart attack.

Yup, that's the naked gene for ya. It's possible that she has Naked Neck way back in her lineage, but in her case I think it's just a congenital birth defect that retared the growth of the femoral tract and her scales. Yes, the skin will sunburn, and it will grow very tough over time. I bought my moleskin at the pharmacy in our grocery store. Yours should carry it too.

Hello again,
Well my little chick is 8 days old now. She never showed any sensitivity and she now runs around with her sibling. She doesn't show any kind of handicap. I will try to get a picture when I can.

All of her toes are fully formed and healthy. The outer one just grew together next to the middle one. Like the webbing between the toes cemented or something. I don't know if I should just leave her now? She seems fine with it??? I am not able to do chick surgery. I am not sure what a vet would charge. If she can balance and run do you think she will be ok?
I got the eggs from a very nice lady on BYC who lives in Georgia.

animals adapt.. one late afternoon we were sitting outside and watchig a flock of night hawks flying around our yard. all of a sudden we noticed one of them looked waaay different than the rest.. It had no tail !!! but it was just as agile as any of the others..

Fused toes is pretty common in some breeds, it is very common in silkies actually, along with extra toes, missing toes, and little bits of toes growing out the sides of their 5th toe.
