Chick hatched early? Accidentally shrink wrapped

This is what we are using and it's set a 99.5 and has been since May 26th about 6/7pm as our chickens usually go into their coop at the time and we take the eggs around the same time. As for humidity I'm not quite sure how to check we just add the water as the video instructions we watched.

So the video(YouTube short) with the chick pepping is day two the white ring is the membrane part that was dried out. Day 1 was the photo with the pip hole

Keep it in yoir incubator until it's more active.
If you don't have chick electrolytes, prepare this

• 1 cup warm water.
• 2 teaspoons granulated sugar.
• 1/8 teaspoon salt.
• 1/8 teaspoon baking soda.

Day 1 (4:30amish) the day where we had opened the incubator to candle the eggs as we hadn't noticed the pip hole, but once we did we had removed the black crate piece and closed it back up.

Day 2 is this video

This is where we left it alone for 24hrs and it still hadn't made progress, this is where I'm pretty sure we made the mistake of helping the chick ( I had watch a few videos as we were stressed about it not hatching out)

Day 3 or today like about a few hours ago is this video of the chick now

The chick doesn’t look shrink wrapped to me, if ever you are concerned the membrane is drying out, you can always moisten it with a bit of coconut oil on a q-tip. I think this chick is premature, so would follow advice given. I wouldn’t worry so much about giving food, they can live of the absorbed egg yolk for a couple of days, just monitor and give food if needed. Give the eggs another few days, built in thermometer’s are not always correct, so I would use an independent one going forward to check ( I use 2 ) Also I noticed on your video, you have a really messy egg. I would take that out straight away, candle, if there is a live chick inside, get as much mess of with a clean cloth and warm water. Bacteria multiply’s rapidly in these conditions and can harm your other eggs/chicks.

Thank you for all the info she it has passed away. I had checked on it at 10am just before work.my his and had checked on here at 4am and she had still been breathing. I'll definitely keep this info in my head moving forward. I still have 4 other eggs but not big hopes.

Funny enough when I had yellow as a baby chick she too was very weak her other had passed last year (a terrify shrik I'll always remember we had tried stay up for days to help another chick who just wasn't eating properly)but it's a learn lesson I'll definitely not "help" without check first.

It certainly is a learning curve, we all learn by experience. I went through similar with one of my hatches, I learnt a few valuable lessons and got so much good advice on here..the one I remember most is..sit on your hands and let nature take its course. Everyone has their own way of incubating and hatching and you will find a way that suits you best
