I am not new to raising chicks But I am new to having my hen hatch them

Last night my Bantom Cochin hen had 1 of 2 eggs hatch. I went out there to check on her to see if they were hatching yet and there he/she was, all fuzzy and keeping warm under her wing.

My question is, when do these baby chicks start eating chick food? I read they can go up to 72 hours without food/water since they soak up the yolk during hatching which provides them with nutrients.

We are still waiting for the other egg to hatch it has a crack in it I assume its "piping"

Once their both hatched does the mama hen show them where the food is?

I have water in there accessible for the chicks small enough where they cant drown in. I dont have food out since I need to go get chick food.

Looking for advise for hatched eggs from a broody hen.

When I had my hen and her 4 brothers it was within the first 24 hours the were born, their mom abondoned them so my neighbor brought them to me and I took them in. They were already walking around eating and drinking. Just wondering since these 2 chicks have a mama if she will do all that for them

thanks in advance
