Chick hatched today...sick. need help

One of my silkie chicks, hatched today, is acting funny. It will only open one eye and is very off balanced. Also, it has 5 toes on one foot and only 4 toes on the other. I think maybe he just doesn't have his land legs yet but not sure what to do for it. Gave some sugar water and have it in the house with me in a shoe box with a hand warmer. Tried to put a saline drop in the closed eye but everytime i try to get a look at it, the baby goes nuts...chirping like mad.
What should I do?

Is it possible that the eye is just stuck shut? Have you tried a cotton ball dipped in warm water? I had to do that with one of mine. Also you may want to give some baby vitamins (poly-vi-sol without iron), one drop or so should help if there is a nutritional problem.
