It looks similar to the first chick but its bigger. Three chicks hatched before like this year, they all died at 7 days old.

I have Baytril 10%, i guess its better to do it now than waiting until day 5 when they get weak and die quickly. Maybe this will help future chicks. If you really think this chick will die, then you could try giving it Baytril. What Baytril do you have?

Quote: The dose I give is 20mg/kg once a day, but maybe giving 10mg/kg twice would be good, too. How much does it weigh? I take 0.2ml Baytril and mix with 0.8ml *distilled* water, that gives you 1ml with 20mg,
the math for a 60 gram chick using that dilution is:
.06 x 20 / 20 = 0.06ml once a day
or
.06 x 10 / 20 = 0.03ml twice a day
Please double check my math!

Baytril is somewhat contraindicated in young *mammals* due to the risk of cartilage damage it can do, and It's a very potent drug, so it's a very personal choice. You could see if this one lives, then if it happens again, reevaluate the situation. Is it so risky to use Baytril?
