Chick having problems pooing...

I'll have to try the greek.

I imagine that a lot of commercial yoghurt would be bad as it has a notorious high sugar content. If you can get plain yoghurt that is made the traditional way (like Greek yoghurt for example) I think it would be beneficial as it is full of good bacteria.

My neighbour is of the opinion that chicks that are not hen-raised tend to have digestive issues because they aren't exposed to hen poop which is full of different bacteria that help digest food. I'm more of the temperature is the biggest influence on chick digestion school of thought. But I my neighbour has been at this a lot longer than me, so the idea of feeding yoghurt for beneficial bacteria might be a good idea.

Thanks so much everyone!!

About the temps...I'm sure moving her from her old brooder to my brooder could have been a problem. I used a pretty small box to retain the heat, and they all curled up and slept for the drive. The brooder she is in now is in my kitchen, there are no drafts that I can feel. The house temp goes down at night, but I thought the heat lamp in the brooder would keep it a constant temp.

I eat raw goat milk yogurt, would that be too much for them? (I hate buying commerical diary products). Or better because it is not pasturized? I know in humans, many people who can't have cow milk can have goat....?

I think I will try the softer food, maybe the molasses tonight when I get home.

Her poo is currently soft, light brown. Not watery. Once in a while that white liquidy stuff oozes out which I assumed is some natural chicken lube?

Thanks again everyone!
