But really... articles on untested inventions impact my crop.

I was at TSC yesterday and asked, when are you guys getting chicks!! Thinking about it but still trying to figure out exactly what I want to do this year.
To many things I want to do:
1)Have a Broody hatch some of my own stock !
2)Do a couple batches of some meaties 50-75 total
3) Few turkeys
4) Maybe a stud bachelor pen setup(unlikely but possible)
5) I still need to keep space for other ideas, new years resolution was to "grow the farm"

I would like to first try to find a breeder of WPR before going with hatchery stock.

@aart I did not ask but will TSC order a small amount to tag onto an existing order they have coming in or is there a minimum? Never looked into it I just figured they had higher minimum of each kind.

I don't know for sure, but have read of many who do get them to tack birds onto their orders for chick days...have no idea of minimums, might depend on the store or who is ordering.

I'd start looking now for a breeder, they may have a waiting list.

Does she hate chickens or all the time and/or money you spend on them.

No incubation capacity YET!! I was looking at an incubator yesterday at TSC $149.99 and I have 10% off. Includes auto turn and 41 egg capacity.

Oh no she hates them! When younger she was pecked by chickens when she visited her grandmother.
She knows I really enjoy it so while she does bust my butt about the amount of money I spend. She is supportive but does certainly keep her distance.

If you seriously want to hatch, I would strongly suggest you do not buy one of those foam incubators.
