Good morning, I’m looking for help with one of our new chicks. She doesn’t seem to be growing much, now she’s walking funny and prefers laying down. She is eating and drinking. I can’t tell if she’s injured or failing to thrive. I don’t see anything obviously wrong with her feet or legs.

Here’s a little video:

Thanks in advance for any help!

Looks like she's having trouble balancing. Can we see her feet? she could have curled toes/slipped tendons

Some chicks seem to be a little slower than others to develop agility and balance. But, occasionally we get one who has a vitamin B deficiency that can cause them to teeter and falter.

Since B vitamins are water soluble, a human tablet of B-complex dissolved in the drinking water can easily treat this leg weakness. All the chicks can drink this vitamin B water. Since you want to mix this fresh each day, fill the chick water bottle only half full and drop one tablet of B-complex into it. Then when they drink all that, mix up another half bottle of solution. It can take a few weeks to notice improvement.
