Chick Help

I'm new to the chicken business and I'm having a problem with one of my chicks. When she goes to use the bathroom, she peeps real loudly and ruffles her feathers out. She can get the feces partially out and then it takes her awhile to get the rest. The feces is hard. I have soaked her bottom in warm water, cleaned her off, but it's not getting any better. I was told by an "expert" to put grit in their feed and did that and no help. She is active, alert and runs everywhere. She doesn't appear to be "sick" but worried about her hurting while defecating. Any suggestions?

Have you tried yogurt or apple cider vinegar in the water? If she is eating anything other than chick feed, grit is good to have, its how they "chew" their food.
