Chick hurt

There's 3 siblings all doing great. It happened one night while in the coop with mom.
Okay. Just try bringing this one in then to assess and treat it. If it won't settle down, see if bringing another buddy in helps it. I posted a couple of links that you can look at and try figure out what's wrong then fix it. I've fixed a few splayed legs and normally that only takes 2-3 days. Your bird I think has worse than that and may take longer.

Okay thank you all for the quick responses. I've been concerned of reintroduction from taking it from the flock and mom. But it condition hasn't improved so its time to try something. I don't see links for stuff to try?

I hope you can do a chick chair or brace or something that helps it either heal or correct itself so it doesn't live like this forever. Depending on what is wrong, this may take several days or even a week. Reintegration may be nothing or may need some work, but that's down the road a bit yet.

We're here if you have questions on either. ☺️

Can you get the chick away from the broody to exam well tonight or tomorrow? Tell us if it bends at the hock joint or if the foot turns in or out, or if the toes curl under. Get some help and take some clear pictures. If the chick is able to get to food and water and keep up with its mom, it may be best to leave it with the flock. Most leg deformities or slipped tendons are not fixable. If the toes curl under that may be fixed with a shoe in the first week. But she may have been stepped on or hurt, and that could heal. If you can take a video and upload it to YouTube that sometimes helps more than pictures. But pictures can be more clear.

Hello Debbie. When you look at these pics what do u think I should be trying? So far we vet wrapped the top of the leg. It did feel damaged if not broke on the upper leg. I brought in another chick for comfort.
It may have gotten its leg stuck in a fence or between boards or something along that line. If it doesn't seem broken to you, then it's sprained or similar at least.

What I'd do is keep it in and off the foot as that needs to rest to heal. In a small box with a screen on top, perhaps, so it can't walk around much. I'd put it on vitamin water, like Poultry Cell and soak it's leg in warm Epsom salt water, or just plain warm water and see if the swelling starts coming down in a day or two. If it does, that's a good sign. If you can get ahold of some adult Vit E and B-complex, you could give it a whole Vit E, but the B-complex 1/4 of one of those. If you can at least get it on that vitamin water, vitamins will really help it heal faster.

I would consider perhaps using like Vetwrap and make a binding to the other leg, leaving a bit of extra distance than normal so that it heals in generally the correct position and doesn't lose muscles while it's healing. It'll force the bird to use that foot instead of drag it, so that's why I'd have it somewhere it can't move around much for a couple of days.
