Chick ID please.

I ordered 5 female Black Star chicks from a hatchery and I received 6 chicks. They are 1 week old. The 6th chick isnt a Black Star due to the yellow fluff. I suspected that it might be a Black Australorp chick but now I'm not sure due to the prevalent yellow fluff.
I know Black Australorps are black in color, I've owned them. But I dont remember the yellow being prominent as in this case. Of course the chick might turn out to be a cockerel, hatcheries are known to add "extra" chicks.

What hatchery did you get them from? Depending on which breed is in its parentage that could still be a black star.

It would have feathered feet if it was that breed of maran. I can't remember, but I think there is a maran breed that has clean, yellow feet, so that is possible.

The color on the chick is yellow, not white. The flourescent lights in our garage messed up the color in the pic grrr, Thanks!

The hatchery would help. That's how I was able to ID my mystery chick... looking through their available options. It helped narrow it down.

It would have feathered feet if it was that breed of maran. I can't remember, but I think there is a maran breed that has clean, yellow feet, so that is possible.

They are from Mt Healthy hatchery.
I just checked the feet and legs on the chick, and the legs are black in color and it's feet are as in the pic above. No feathers on the legs or feet.

I just saw that white on the wing. I can't remember BSLs having that before, so maybe you are right.

I have two black australorp chicks, one has more white coloring (wing tips) and pinker feet... the coloring varies. You could be right.

I’ve had Australorp chicks who’s white parts/fluff was pretty yellow. I think it could be an Australorp.
