Hey everybody, yesterday we found one of our 3 week-old chicks with an injured comb. I supose some of the others pecked him. I put some methylene blue on the injury and he seems to be doing fine. Now my problem is I dont't know where to keep him..he cries a lot if left alone..we tried to put another chick with him..but this one pecked him too

..so right now he is in my room sleeping..but I cant't have him sleeping all day..he needs to eat, drink to get all better, so I was hoping for some ideas from you guys..

Sounds like you need to fix it up a place to stay by itself for a few days til he's better. You can use any kind of dish or container for food and water. Do you know how the comb got injured? If it's a pecking injury you may be able to solve the problem with more space, removing any heat, and / or getting them outdoors.

I put him all by himself but he cries and cries..it breaks my heart! I think the injury it's a result of the pecking..I also set up a bigger place for the others. I hope to be able to put them back together soon..
Thanks a lot for your thoughts!

A lone chick is often comforted by a small stuffed toy or feather duster, or anything soft and small like a doll pilllow -- or another chick, if there is one who won't peck. Just about anything different, a small box to jump on or a small roost, should at least distract him. Change rattles even mature chickens.

Thank you so much for your ideas Flockwatcher..we'll be sure to comfort him any way we can
