Hi guys, it has been a long while now .Two of my seramas are parents to two beautiful chicks. They're 2 days old now .

One of the chick is sleeping more than the other one. I haven't brought them outside because the hen is still broody.

Is everything ok with the chick? It's not eating like the other sibling and I don't really know how to feed it because the chick is too small and fragile (serama).

Does it seem a little listless? Is it pooping? It's possible that it could be coccidiosis then again it could just be because it's quite young. I would check out coccidiosis online. Look at the symptoms.

The symptoms online are much more about older chickens. Only the listless part is applicable. Other than that, I haven't noticed any bloody poop.

I truly am hoping that this one just like to sleep. But dang, i'm worried!

I would be worried too. I had a chicken die of coccidiosis and I had no idea until people started talking about her weight. She was tiny! After a while we kept her in a secluded area with food, water, and a heat lamp. She wouldn't eat or drink by herself so we had to go in 3 times a day and feed her the meds in a syringe. As it got worse she started losing her balance frequently and then falling over. At the worst part, it would happen every 2 to 3 minutes.

This year I’ve gone through about 75 chicks. I find that for the first week some sleep more than others. I check butt, poop, nose, and how much they eat. If they have a big crop by night time. I don’t worry too much. Feed some acv and I like organic feed that was made only a week or two ago. The mill date is on the bags we get at the store.
