Chick is shakeing and has sickly sweet breath. Please help! Frirst timer!

4th day on antibiotics and every body is full of energy and happy!!! Thank you for your help!!!

Hi Back again... The two chicks I was worrying about are seeming healthy they eat and drink and poo just as much as my others but they still have their funky smell? I have had them on antibiotics for a 11 days... it helped them with their energy and alertness plus they stopped shaking but that smell? Should I be concerned?

If I remember correctly, you're using the duramycin, continue for the 14 days. something you could try...take a facecloth or whatever and dip into warm water [1 quart] to which you have added 1/4 tsp. of iodized salt and a pinch of baking soda. [the baking soda acts as a buffering agent and will make this solution less painful if it did get into the eyes] Being careful of the eyes, gently wash the beak and head area. You can do this as often as you need. See if that will help with the smell. You could also get a bottle of human salt water nasal spray and do it with that.

I am very glad to hear they are getting better and it's great you are keeping the thread up to date!

OK! will do I'll give an update in a few days
