I am so excited! I lifted the broody hen to see if there was any activity... day 21 ~one little black fluff chirping away and five eggs yet to deliver.

I am so excited, oops said that...

What do we need to do for these little gals? I have water, food starter and food for momma...
pine shavings and a separate area in the coop for the new family. Anything else? Do I need to worry about anything??

Congrats on the hatch! I would make sure momma hen keeps the chick safe, as well as the remaining eggs. Unlike ordering from a hatchery, the chicks are very focused on mom, and mom knows what to do to keep them safe. What kind of chicks are they? :)

Mom is an Easter Egger, the first hatchling is black with white chest and white wing tips. (Bought the eggs from a neighbour I have no roo)
