Chick looks as though it is choking

Thank you. I'll try get some today. We have a bowl with chick food but that ends up everywhere. I hope it isn't bad for the unhatched eggs to keep moving them off and on the nest to change the bedding...

if you have one, a wicker basket with straw is an awesome way to have a mobile nest so you can move mama and eggs together. maybe not this time, but for future clutches perhaps? :)
 
Do you have more than just the one chick hatched so far? If so, have you considered removing the chicks to be raised in a brooder separately so you can put paper towels down and for the chicks to not learn bad habits?

I know many people prefer a hen to raise the chicks, but it's just a suggestion if she won't stop telling the chicks to eat wood shavings...

I've only ever had brooder raised chicks since none of my older girls ever go broody.
