Chick looks as though it is choking

Thank you. I'll try get some today. We have a bowl with chick food but that ends up everywhere. I hope it isn't bad for the unhatched eggs to keep moving them off and on the nest to change the bedding...

if you have one, a wicker basket with straw is an awesome way to have a mobile nest so you can move mama and eggs together. maybe not this time, but for future clutches perhaps?

Do you have more than just the one chick hatched so far? If so, have you considered removing the chicks to be raised in a brooder separately so you can put paper towels down and for the chicks to not learn bad habits?

I know many people prefer a hen to raise the chicks, but it's just a suggestion if she won't stop telling the chicks to eat wood shavings...

I've only ever had brooder raised chicks since none of my older girls ever go broody.
