AWW poor thing! There has to be something getting at them

Doesn't look like those will ever grow back

Poor babies! Any bleeding?

There appeared to be dried old blood on the beak. I feel horrible about it.

I hope the beaks grow back, but if not I will have 2 special babies to keep!

My kids won't let me get rid of them so I hope they are both girls.

Oh poor thing.

Honestly, if you have them in the brooder with the big chickens, like I think you said, then its probably them getting the chicks! I would separate them.

Best of luck and I hope those two are the only ones that have this problem.

Yes, the brooder is in the big coop but the chicks aren't mingling(sp?) with the bigger chickens. I may have to put up an extra layer of smaller holed netting to keep the bigger ones from pecking through. I have seen the chicks eat and drink so I think they are doing okay for now, they seem to be healthy and running around just like the other little ones.
I'm putting my ducklings in the other half of the brooder today so I hope the same thing doesn't happen to them. I'd keep them in the house a little longer but in this heat they are stinking up the room they are in

I would suggest that other chicks pecked this ones beak until it broke. I've had turkeys do that to each other, and I really don't think it's that uncommon. They will typically be fine, it's just kinda ugly looking.
