Hello! I am on day 17 of incubating some standard sized chicken eggs. I noticed on day 15 that one of the eggs started moving, a lot! It especially likes to move when it hears me talking, I guess it's its own way of communicating. Since day 15, I have 3 more eggs who now wiggle in response to me talking. Being that it is day 17, lockdown officially starts tomorrow!

However, with all of this movement, should I go ahead and begin lockdown today? I see no signs of pipping yet, and with the eggs being brown it is hard to see inside to gage how far along they are. Thanks!

I am doing my first hatch too but mine have been moving since early on. I wouldn’t start lockdown early just because of that. What is your temp set at? Wait for other responses since, like I said, this is my first incubator hatch

Temp is sitting at 99.5°F and humidity is around 50%. Just spiked humidity a bit due to adding more water (was low). I was reading that the eggs didn’t need to be turned anymore since they turn themselves at around day 15, but I trust the machine and the experience of others.
