My kids named our flock of seven. They hadn't any consideration for gender whatsoever. I ended up with a dominant little cockerel that was initially dubbed Miss Babsie. We dropped the "Miss" when it became apparent that "she" was in fact "he". -got stuck with a gray Japanese bantam pullet named Tux (because she looked like a penguin as a chick). -and the most hilarious: three pullets named Mordekaiser, Fleance, and Dogberry. Kuro (cockerel #2) and Nitori (pullet) are the only two that have sensible names.![]()
I usually wait to see what their personalities are like first. Or I give them non-descript names.
I named my barred rock Oreo and my EE is Eggo. I'm so original LoL
I also have a bad habit of naming them for the wrong gender![]()
