So got a chick that’s a week old and just put it with its mum in a larger enclosure and since being outside in rather cold temperatures of 17 degrees Celsius I haven’t seen it go under the hen once for warmth when checking several times this morning and is now lying down next to the hen resting but making me worried if it’s getting to cold of if this is all completely normal and should leave it to the hen?

I usually leave it to Mom and chick. It may be getting enough warmth by just being beside her.
I know it can be unsettling, but chicks don't need constant heat, they tuck underneath for a quick warm-up then off they go. Or at least that's been my experience, even in cooler temps.
