I have a day old chick that is not opening her eyes. She is cheeping a lot but not moving from her spot. She will drink some sugar water on a dropper but is not interested in eating (offered her grow gel plus B). I separated her from the others and now she is inside the house snuggled in a towel up ageist a hot water bottle. Is she sick if so with what? Is she going to live? If she lives is she going to see? I am asking these questions because I have never had this happen before with my other chicks.

Sometimes, it takes them a little while to get stared.

Since she's so young, you could offer her some raw egg yolk and see if that helps. Also, put some vitamins in her water. :)

She seemed to like the egg yolk. I thought of giving her a buddy to keep her warm a company but she wants nothing to do with the other chicks so she is still alone with the hot water bottle tucked in a towel.

Keep giving her the yolk and see if that perks her up.

If you want her to have some company, consider putting a small mirror in with her. :) Just make sure the temp is a fairly constant 90-95 degrees for her first week.

Her eyes have opened a little but she moves and acts like she did not developed fully mentally. Two questions I have are what color should her poop be if she was eating egg yolk? Right now it looks like she is pooping egg yolk. Also how do I teach her to eat chick food?

Also she is walking on her wings. Another thing is she will not have anything to do with the other chicks but demands to be held in my lap.
