Just letting you folks know my big black easter egger crowed this morning. I quess we were right he is a Cockerel. We only have 5 chickens, the bantam who raised him,( Pee Wee) a Rode Island red hen(Pixie) and the cockerel and his 2 siblings. Do I need to separate him and will he get aggressive with the chicks he grew up with? I don't want him breeding with the adoptive mother because shes an elderly bantam Cochin. I had planned to rehome him but am having no luck so far. I want him to be a pet or used for breeding. I might have to risk keeping him.

Time will tell.
If he does start getting a bit aggressive, it would be best to separate him.
