Chick on it's back

I got one of those late hatcher last week that I have to help finish hatching. Someone told me to give it a bath but I didn’t, just kept it warm and let it dry by itself. It had a balance issue, I just let it rest and 3 days later it’s fine and normal as can be after water and feeds. It’s still smaller than the rest though.

Do you have any nutri-drench on hand? Give it a 1-2 drops once a day for a few days to see if that helps.
Watch to see if she's drinking. You can also offer a wet mash made of your chick starter, that may be easier to eat.
Keep us posted.

Thanks all. I don't have any Nutridrench on hand. Does TSC carry it? I can get some in the morning. I plan on bringing the chick inside if she's still looking off in the morning as well so I can keep a closer eye on her. So you think she'd be good with a heat lamp and stuffed animal or should I bring another chick in too?

TSC definitely carries it. Picked up a bottle myself yesterday ;)
You can put a bit of the nutridrench into the water you use to make the mash as well if you want.

Are the other chicks picking on her at all, because if you're pretty sure this isn't something contagious and they're not hurting her it would probably be comforting for her to have some company.

Her umbilical area is much more noticeable than the other chicks.
You can give her a little sugar water to see if that give her a boost. Yes, you can find PND at TSC.
What type of heat source is she under now? She may need to be a bit warmer, in the video she is not happy.

If you think she needs to be brought it, there's no time like the present, I wouldn't wait until morning. Make sure what ever you put her in is large enough that she can get away from the heat source. A stuffed animal would be nice.

You mention the umbilical area is more noticeable - is it healed over? Any redness, ooozing, etc.?
Butt clear of pasting?

I was thinking that too, but I think in the video she was lifting the plate to show us the chick. It's probably actually lower down.

It died. Thanks for all of your suggestions everyone. Going to suck explaining this to my 8 year old when she gets up in a few hours

Maybe just tell her that sometimes when babies are born, their bodies didn't grow just right and they stop working. You can tell her that having a body that doesn't work right doesn't feel very good, so when they die it's kind of good for them because they don't have to feel sick anymore. And when you bury them their bodies are absorbed by the Earth again, and can help new things grow.

Sorry, I don't have kids, that's the best I can do. If she cries, don't be afraid to cry with her. Give lots of hugs.
