Lisa - the pyncheon are not black, but more a cream/white color when they hatch. There are a few chicks pics on my site to see better close ups of them as chicks (and their little knobby heads). lol They are a mille fleur color pattern.

Congrats Hinkjc, those chicks are sooo cute. I hatched out 30 from 38, so I`m kinda happy about that, not to bad for being my first time. Yayy!! lol

How come I can't live in PA, seems everyone lives up there. Dang it. You can ship those poor homely looking (lol) buff chicks to me and I will love them regardless of how bad they look. (Ha ha of course I know they will turn into real beauties soon, but I wont say that out loud). But you just send them on down here to me and I promise I wont laugh at them.

Tony - that's a great hatch rate you got for a first time. I wish my first time was so good. Congrats!

marie - I think there's a farm for sale down the road. Should I inquire for ya? Then you can just stop in and visit anytime. We'll talk chickens till the sun goes down and enjoy my "so ugly, they're cute" babies.

Yep..lotsa chicks and keeping me busy. Whew..but life is grand when spring arrives and the babies are chirping.
