Chick pipped wrong end, tried to help, now stuck in remaining egg

I don’t know if we have any of that in the house, is there any other alternatives? We waited over 24 hours before doing anything which is what we had read was recommended. He’s been flailing around trying to break free and it’s just so upsetting to hear and see.
I don't know. Vaseline? Something oil based that won't dry out.

I'm just afraid at this point if you mess with it too much the yolk sack will break. If the yolk sack breaks it will die and their is nothing you can do. Some people put them in a cup to absorb the yolk sack. The yolk sack is a priority over its irritation of its shell.

Okay so what would you suggest doing? Putting the vaseline on? Or just putting it in a cup? Would this be a plastic cup (like a red solo cup)?

Sorry I was offline. Very carefully put some Vaseline on and then put it in your solo cup. You may have to cut it down to fit in your incubator. Don't touch the yolk sack.

Not a problem, thank you for even taking the time to try and help at all. To be honest, we are extremely nervous to even touch him. The last time we tried, he started flailing and kicking everywhere. He’s finally calmed down to some degree. I’ve been reading a few other forums with a similar situation and some said it is best to just leave them be.

That sounds good, has it absorbed more yolk sack?
I am really not sure. Is there any signs that would indicate this is the case? The eggs were given to us through our school so this is our first time ever doing this. Unfortunately, this means that all of my knowledge is coming from reading articles and forums by more experienced people - another reason why we’re too nervous to disturb him any further.

In your last picture in between the legs looked like a little yellow bulge. That bulge needs to be absorbed through the abdomen for the chick to live.

This is what he looks like now. He’s in a very weird position from his flailing earlier and the budge is still there. It’s hard to get a good quality picture since it’s darker now and we don’t want to keep opening the incubator so much, but he definitely does not look good. I unfortunately do not think he is getting any better.
