First time using an incubator as used broody hens for since I was a kid. One egg has popped wrong end. I’ve read through the hatching guide on here but I’m so confused and getting myself in a fluster and don’t want to do more damage.

I’ve moistened the area, chick is loud. No blood really from where I’ve removed some as was trying to go round in the zip position but hasn’t gone right at all. 😢 Feeling like I’ve made this worse?!
Chick is end of day 21

Desperately trying to push and is really squealing but to no avail!
I think you’ve helped - at least it can breath! Do you have coconut oil that you can rub on exposed membranes to see if there are still blood vessels? If you rub some oil in the vessels will pop out if still there. If you see only tiny threads or no vessels, slowly start tearing the membrane and shell away from the beak. If you see blood, stop and put chick back in the incubator for an hour then resume. Only tear where you’ve looked for vessels. :fl

Thank you! I got it out myself last night. Happy healthy Wyandotte ❤️❤️
