We just purchased 9 chicks on Saturday from Rural King so they’re very young. I’m noticing long worm like things in their poop/water. Here’s a photo I took, hoping someone might have an idea of what this is and if we should be alarmed. All of the chicks are doing well and eating/drinking and running around.

Do you have grit in there for them? It's because they are not fully digesting the pellets. I would wet their food at the very least to make it easier for them and provide grit if you haven't already.

No. I just have their bin setup with water & the medicated chicken feed that I was told was best for them. I’ll buy some grit tomorrow. Thank you!

What exactly is “grit”? my chicks have the same poop 😅

Grit is hard stone used to aid in grinding down food because chickens don't have teeth. If your environment does not have adequate natural stones available for the birds to fill their needs, then it's a good idea to supplement (I supplement regardless, as grit is so cheap).
