I have several Cream Leggbar eggs I am hatching and may start selling a few =. What are the reasonable prices for these birds. I see a wide range. I will have day old chicks and I have one 4 month old breeding trio. Any help would be appreciated.

If you have a local farm store, you could probably get a price list of what they charge for chicks. This time of year, our farm and feed stores no longer sell chicks, so you might be able to ask for more if someone wants to start raising chickens. Most hatcheries list their prices online, and that could be another place to check. I would think a 4 month old trio would be more valuable then day old chicks.

Cream legbars are considered a rare breed, I guess, and you can find what Cackle Hatchery charges for them here. Basically, $20 for a pullet and $9 for a roo. But the season was over in June, so I guess no more until next Feb.

Another resource may be a local 4H program poultry coordinator. You might be able to find out going prices for your breed in your location. And you may get a line or two on someone who is looking for your breed of birds. Good luck.
