Chick Road Trip

I have four chicks, they're just under two weeks old. I'm going to my parents house today about forty miles away. Can I bring them along? If so, how do I pack them up?

I took my 3 chicks to work last week at about that same age. They are in a large rubbermaid container, so I just took out the waterer and feeder and put the top on. I made sure the car was already warmed up (heat blasting!). It was a hot ride to work that day, but when I got to work and opened them up, it was still warm! I work about 40 minutes away. Set up the heat lamp, waterer and feeder and we were all good! It was great to hear them peep all day!

I don't see any reason why not, but first...

1. Check with your parents! Maybe they don't want poultry in their house
2. Do your parents have dogs or cats? If they do, you'll need to put the chicks in a safe room where the other animals can't enter.
