More chickens can never be a problem! It's strange that sometimes I get selective amnesia and forget to tell my wife that a hen is sitting on 15 eggs - seems to happen all the time 

Very true! Not like it's really any extra work anyways, least until you start getting to the high numbers. And LOL that is genius!

Hey you know what they say: "Chickens are like potato chips; you can't have just one. (Or two. Or eight.)" I love my two Speckled Sussex girls. They're so curious and like to get into things though. Had a SS roo a while back, but he was pretty stand-offish. I've had Silver Laced and Golden Laced Wyandottes in the past too. The four Wyandottes I have now are BLR and they are by far my favorite variety.

Nope. Never had a problem with them. Actually went out tonight and one of the girls is acting like she's wanting to hatch some eggs...so maybe more chicks after all!

That's good!! I've heard mixed things, some say they never had a problem hut some say they can be mean or others say they can be mean but only to new chicks. I really want to try them though. Besides, people say Barred Rocks can be mean but mine is really nice. But wow, that is awesome!!!! I hope you get some chicks!!

I went to TSC tonight. You know, just to look...

I have no less than three other shipments of chicks coming my way this spring! I do NOT need to trawl the local stores too! Luckily for me, they only had BSL and RIR pullets, which aren't on my wish list...

Oh wow!!! Local stores are definitely dangerous!!! Could very easily have walked out with some chicks! Good you didn't lol RIR and BSL aren't on my list either, though when we were first thinking of getting chicks my dad really wanted them/thought of them as the classic chicken. My local store is getting tons of cool breeds this year though soooo I gotta do my best not to go in..... also have the type of food I want though. Well, TSC does too but not the better version of it. But TSC also has chicks.... this could end badly.... i want Speckled Sussex and Wyandottes, both of which the local store is getting, not sure about TSC. Need those. Badly. And even though I don't NEED or necessarily WANT them..... I could walk out with another Barred Rock or Buff Orpington too..... TSC minimum is 6 though so it's a little easier to not walk out with chicks LOL but the local one is only a 3 chick minimum, though from the same ship date. I think the same ship date thing though is only for if you order in advance. In store I could probably merely pick up whatever fluffy butts are in the store... dangerous. LOL
