Chick shaking head a lot

Okay great, 'cause that's what we got.

The Sav-A-Chick I was using has all those vitamins in it, but the stuff I picked up has that plus other good stuff that the Sav-A-Chick doesn't have. It comes in a cool mixing bottle too; you put tablets in and fill it with water, then shake it to dissolve the tablet. You just go by the chicken's age as to how many tablets you use. It's pretty neat, as it eliminates having to measure things out.

Thank you so much for your advice, I really appreciate it!

The Sav-A-Chick I got comes in little packets. The other stuff I got is called Life-Lytes...that's the stuff that's with the tablets that go by age that makes measuring easy. It's in a yellow bottle and has a screw top and has another opening on the side with a screw top for filling. You pop in the # of pills by age, fill it with water and shake and you're good to go. It's made by Manna Pro.

Hmm, I swore I posted this earlier, but I guess not. Anyway, good news! I've been watching the chick this morning and have noticed that the only time she shakes her head now is if I talk close to her, which all my chicks do/did. I say when I talk close to her because all of my older chicks shook their heads a bit when they were younger if I talked close to them and all these younger ones do too. I'm pretty sure that's normal 'cause other people on here have said their chicks do the same. I guess it may have something to do with their sensitive hearing.

I hope this means she's grown out of it. All I know is that I'm super happy about it 'cause I was so worried about her. I hope she continues to keep that little head of hers still, lol!

Yay!!

When looking for vitamins for chicks or even older juveniles and adults...go for Poly Vi Sol without Iron....just grab them from the baby isle at any pharmacy, walmart or even the grocery store. Keep them on hand. For a young chick...one or two drops directly in the beak (I drop it on the beak so it rolls down and they swallow it themselves)....once daily for three or four days usually perks a lagging chick up. It is also a great aid in treating wry neck, another neurological disorder that is a direct result of vitamin deficiencies.

You can search for poly vi sol here on the forums for a host of other uses, ages and dosages.
