Chick Shiping Cost?

If you don't want packing peanuts (cockerels added for warmth), you need to specify that with Ideal at the time you place your order and pay a small mail insurance charge (a couple of dollars).

I wouldn't recommend getting anything less than 25 at this time of year though.

They charge a boxing charge, for any orders less than 25 and there is an air parcel post charge that works out like this : For shipments to Texas (except zips 798-799), Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Missouri except zips 620 thru 635, there is no air parcel post charge. For all other states and zip codes add 15¢ per Chick, Bantam, Chukar, or Guinea, 20¢ per Turkey Poult or Duckling, and 28¢ per Gosling.
If you want to get an accurate figuring, just PM teri @ ideal. She is a BYC member and her member i.d. is idealpoultry. Just tell her what you want to order and where you are located and she can give you the total amount.

It says on most hatchery websites what the shipping cost is. For Ideal, if you order chicks, it is 20 cents per chick. There are some hatcheries that have no shipping, some include it in the price of the chick, and others have flat rates per 25 or however many chicks you order.
