Chick standing after cleaning

Definitely reaching for the heat then. On my first batch of chicks I watched them all standing under the brooder plate, so I lowered it slightly (at an angle) and they stopped having to stand to get warm. Do you know the temp at chick level under the lamp?
Hmmm, I do not know the temp. Is there a way for me to figure that out?

I have one baby chick that had pasty butt so I gently cleaned the area and put her back in with the other chicks. It has been hours and she will not lay down and is sleeping standing up and is trying to rest on other chicks (standing up). All the other chicks are laying down sleeping and she is the only one that isn’t laying down. I’m thinking she is having some discomfort after her cleaning but it’s been hours since and she still hasn’t laid down. I mixed up electrolytes and noticed she was drinking that but haven’t seen her eat food so I’m unsure if she has ate or not. Is this normal for her to be standing for hours? When does it become not normal?
I'm having the exact same problem with one of my Ameribella chicks. She is a little over a week old and had a pasty butt... after I cleaned her on Sunday, she has only been standing ever since. She seems to be eating and drinking ok, following her sisters around, and the temperature is where it should be. I read some of the replies to your thread and will try the boiled egg and supplements, and feeding her sperately for a few days and hopefully we will see some improvement.
What was the outcome with your little one?
