Hello,
We had a chick start to pip today, but blood came everywhere out of the pip hole. I got nervous because the chick would drown in the blood. So I pulled the chick out of the egg so it would not drown. Sadly the yolk sac was not absorbed. Is this chick doomed? Please help!!

Gently examine the chick a sharp piece of eggshell could of cut the chick somewhere examine for woulds or broken blood vessels. If you find a would dip a cotton swab in warm water and apply super light pressure to the would carefully. But it's said ( like above ) it's best not to help but if emergency it might be okay.

What day of incubation is it? The chick looks a bit small.... Im no expert but I heard you can wrap the yolk in a wet paper towel and put the chick in a small cup? good luck! :hugs

The yolk sack looks really green. It might have a yolk sack infection (which is also usually fatal). It will probably not make it unfortunately with that much blood loss. Where did it externally pip? I'm guessing it pipped through a vein and bled out. Usually if they pip through a vein they're malpositioned. I had one pip a vein and live, but it was a tiny vein and not much blood. Yours must have hit a big vein. I'm sorry. Hopefully she can pull through. Just leave her and don't let any chicks peck her. If she starts moving around out her in a tall dish lined with paper towels. Keep humidity high so her yolk doesn't dry out. Like 70-75%. It's going to take a while to absorb. Good luck. Fingers crossed she makes it.
