Hey guys!!!
I have almost 3 week chicks and they are all doung great, a day ago I noticed one of the Amber Link chicks is kind of standing hunched with its eyes closed every now and again, owning chickens for about 20 yeare ive come across almost everything, and ive seen this in older hens and treated appropriately. I very seldom raise them from chicks as I buy pullets etc, But Inhave raised chicks a good 2 dozen times over the years and never had a problem that I could remember. I guess I've been lucky. They ARE on medicated chick feed... Ive put Nutri drench in their water 2 times a week. The afflicted chick does eat and drink and poop normal. Is there anything else I should be doing. Also its been in the high 90s were I am so obviously I haven't needed a heat lamp.
Thankyou!!! In advance for any help.

At 3 weeks if a chick was hunched and lethargic, I would probably go ahead and treat the ones that age with Corid/amprollium in the water for 5-7 days in case of coccidiosis. Even though you are feeding medicated feed it doesn’t prevent them from getting coccidiosis. Stop the NutriDrench until finished with Corid if you choose to use it.

I think that's what I'm going to do I don't have corid but I do have Zyfend... a brand new bottle do you think that'll work just as well?

Zyfend is not a treatment for coccidiosis. It is advertised as a natural wormer. Corid is amprollium a thiamine blocker that is the most common treatment for coccidiosis, and is very safe. It is not an antibiotic.

Yes, it says on my bag of manna pro chick starter that the food contains amprollium, ill see if tsc has it... The chick IS EATING so idk maybe it couod be something else... I PUT SOME Zyfend in the water and Ill see how shes doing tommorrow...maybe shell kick whatever she has. But I do want yo get Corid anyway for my laying girls.

The amount of amprollium in the medicated food is not enough to treat an out break. If treating an outbreak dosage is 2 tsp of the liquid Corid or 1 1/2 tsp of the powder per gallon of water for 5-7 days. Stop any vitamins or other liquid during Corid treatment. The medicated feed is fine to keep using during treatment.
