Chick unusually mellifluous (trilling?), should I be worried?

I have three baby chicks and one, an Easter Egger, doesn't sound like the others. Rather than little peeps, she has a multi-tonal song like trilling. It's very pretty but I've never heard a chick make sounds like that before (I've only raised five). Reason I'm posting is because this chick has also been lethargic and wouldn't open her eyes. I fed her sugar water and some scrambled egg, and she has now perked up a bit, and drinking on her own. I'm wondering if this trilling is some kind of signal of distress or if she is just unusually mellifluous. She is very, very tiny.

I'm glad she has perked up. You can give her "magic chicken water" to help her along. I use it for all my chicks. 1/2 cup of raw, unfiltered honey 2 crushed garlic cloves and 2 tablespoons of Bragg's apple cider vinegar added to 1 gallon of warm water and left to steep overnight. Hope she is doing better! My ameraucanas made the same sound when they were chicks. As EEs are related, may be a breed thing. My other breeds do not make this sound.

Interesting! I've been noticing a number of traits about my Easter Eggers that make them a bit different than the others. I'm excited about this breed. And thanks, she seems to be a lot better, drinking and eating on her own, eyes open...fingers crossed.

I’ve a budding flock of ten six-week old chicks who’ve made this sound you describe since they were a few days old. I only hear it at night. While still in the brooder box, they’d be in a pile under the mama pad making this soft trilling sound. Last night before I went to bed I checked on the youngsters as the overnight low was forecast to drop to the mid-twenties. As usual they were huddled together making this contented sounding soft trill.

We decided to call her Melanie, and she's now the biggest one in the group and doing very well!
