Chick viability

I just lost this years chicks to a weasel last night

. They were all 3 months old and would have been large enough to winter over. I am thinking of ordering another dozen chicks to replace them

It does get cold here in the winter and I was wondering if they would be old enough to survive the winter this year. They would be around 3 months at the begining of December when it starts to get cold.

They will be fully feathered out by then and should be fine if you have adequate shelter for them. You could also buy older birds. I would make sure you have blocked that weasle from getting in again though....they are clever and will revisit.
