My daughter has some 4 week old chicks for a 4H project. This evening we noticed one of them walking funny. This particular chick had problems with pasty butt and had to be separated from the others cor a while but we have never noticed her walking wierd until today. Not sure what to do? Any suggestions on what this may be and what to do for her would be greatly appreciated!

I thought about that but all the chicks have been vaccinated... so I wouldn't think that would be the case?

I don't think she could have been injured she has been separated crom the others because they were pecking her. I never heard of giving apple cider vinegar but the pasty butt seems to have cleared up on its own. I do have some Chick saver and will try giving her some. My poor daughter is just beside herself with worry for "chubby".

She may have wry neck/crook neck. The treatment is Vitamin E, selenium, and PolyViSol baby vitamins. The chicks that get this can have a vitamin deficiency or a brain injury. It seems to be fairly common, and there are numerous threads here on BYC to read about different treatments. Some cases are mild and easily helped and some are very severe. Here is some info: http://oureggbasket.blogspot.com/2013/04/wry-neck-or-crook-neck-understanding-it.html

Thanks! I gave her some sav a chick tonight and going to get some vitamins tomorrow!
