chick with a busted leg

Just discovered one of my Orpington has a busted leg. I noticed her walking funny the other day but thought she hit it on something. Looked closer tonight and noticed that the joint is about twice the size it should be.

How old is she? She could have a severe sprain, but some diseases such as mycoplasma synoviae and viral arthritis (tenosynovitis) can also cause swollen hock joints. I would place her in a cage with food and water with vitamins for a week for rest, then re-examine her. MS can be treated with Tylan and other antibiotics, but there is no treatment for viral arthritis.
