Chick with bad foot?

He seems to be putting weight on it and walking ok. At first I thought he just had 1 dark foot and didn't notice anything wrong with it. Then I looked closer. The toes are all kind of turned to the side.

So far I am not thinking "dead" foot. Pics would be really helpful. Click on the link in my signature. (Bottom of my post) There is a lot of info on foot problems. I am going to see if a mod can move your post to the appropriate section so you will get more input.

Took a picture this morning, he doesn't seem to be putting much weight on it this morning. Totally forgot about the injuries section, I haven't been on here in about a year:)

It looks dead.

I was hoping when you said it was warm that it still had blood flow. The heat was probably from being in the brooder. Was it really walking normally last night? Was it standing with the toes flat on the floor? The toes look dry to me.

It seems to be doing ok. It was being picked on so I separated it amd put a teddy in the cage and it seems happy. It's eating and drinking fine, and just hopping on its good leg. The foot is almost drying up and looking like it's going to fall off. Could that happen and just leave it with one leg??? We only keep a flock of 2 to 3 hens at a time so we would be ok with a special needs bird. I named it stubby, lol! I'm pretty attached.

I am glad that I found this post. I just hatched out 8 RIR chicks this week. All are doing good, with the exception of one little feller. He has this same thing, other than the color of his leg seems fine. He hobbles around, but is able to eat and drink okay. So if the color of the injured leg matches the normal working leg do you think he will turn out to be ok?

Thx,

JJ

The OP's chick had a severely injured leg which has caused the leg to "die". There are a lot of things that can go wrong with the feet/legs of a chick. You want to treat some issues ASAP because they will not get better on their own. There is a link in my signature which has a lot of helpful info. If you do not find it there, post a new thread in the emergencies section with pics if possible.
