Hi Everyone

This little d’Uccle was born with curled toes, I tried to fix it and then I noticed or he developed a bad leg( I was told it’s a slipped tendon)
He is 2 weeks old now.
Is there anything I can do?
Thank you.

It’s been like that for about a week now
It's always a difficult choice to cull a chick. :(

A week seems too long to me... but you can try the techniques in that link and see what happens. Things get worse with age in my experience... and since I breed my birds I don't want the genetic weakness in my stock to pass possible bad genes forward as I don't believe it's completely from hatch/incubation anomalies. After being through it and letting them grow out thinking I'll eat the boys anyways... I won't even try to fix them anymore, and I cull immediately for things like splay leg and cross beak. That's no life for a chicken to me.

Did the curled toes fix? Did you supplement any vitamins yet? If they hatched from your flock... do consider breeder nutrition in the future.

They're all so cute! :love

I bought the eggs, toes are still curled, tape on them didn’t fix them.
The link doesn’t seem to work ‍♀️
I fully agree it’s no life if it can’t be fixed and if it could be fixed I wouldn’t want to use him/her in future for breeding.
I’m pretty sure I’ll have to cull, just wanted to make sure I had tried all avenues first.
I do put a supplement in the chicks drinking water.
Thank you for all the help you have given

Hmm, I guess none of the links on the site are working. :he

I think you have covered all your bases to try and help this chick. It unfortunate that not all can make it... but I try to focus on the ones that do and the joy of new life. Hope your other babies are thriving! :wee
