Chick with bent neck

I had a little silkie with really bad wry neck. His neck was twisted and his head completely upside down. he could only circle around backwards and couldn't really stand. I used a dropper to give him Poly-vi-sol without iron, crushed selenium tablets, and vitamin e 5 times a day. I just dribbled it into his beak. I massaged his neck for about 5 minutes each time I dosed him and could usually get his neck to relax a bit. Then I set him in front of a bit of very wet mash with more of the vitamin mixture in it. That way I knew he got a little food and water every few hours. I did this every day for about 2 weeks. He got worse before getting better but he finally made a complete recovery. He is now a healthy, beautiful little roo with his own flock of hens.

Thats great advice too!

Here's another idea, after thinking that you chick just might tuck her beak right under even on the box. I used Yolk to show you how it could work.

This is what I made for her neck, but only put it on when I hold her

Again, a toilet paper roll... Cut like above. I also sliced it all the way down the back.

Place chick with chin & beak in the cut out section. You can use medical tape to shut the slice in back somewhat like a straight jacket. You could place a cotten ball behind her head to keep her chin stationary. Here's what I mean:

Oh that's good too... I would recommend keeping her that way for periods of time throughout the day. The more her chin is up the better with breaks in between with her siblings. Very cute little chick. As long she has the will.... That's what I told myself with Yolk. She was loud outside of her box.

Thank you Rockashelle so much for your help and taking the time to explain things..I think this baby chick will be okay now and I will help her as much as I can. Thank you also to SandBsmom and Gabrielle1976, really appreciate your thoughts. I hope after everything she turns out to be a girl as I couldn't imagine having to part with her now.

Please keep us posted.

Certainly will, everyday she seems to improve..this afternoon for the first time I saw her drinking water with her other 3 friends. Such a little thing but a major achievement for this little baby....
