Chick with birthmark or something red between the eyes

It may just have a late forming comb. May never form, but shouldn't bother it once the open area heals. That is my NON- expert opinion!

this is a single comb breed. That would be an enormous comb!

My thought is it has an underformed comb. Have never seen one, but if you can keep it bacterial free, that should help. I think the baby is sensitive because it's raw. It may need time for the skin to form around it. I'm an optimist, so please seek more advice.....plus I'm not a chicken know-it-all. Best of luck to you and your adorable baby.

thanks. this is my precious baby! I am just baffled. I have hatched about 1000 eggs and have never seen anything like this. I am keeping ointment on it to keep it soft so It can heal over.
