chick with bleeding toe

Hi, I'm looking for some advice. I have a 2 week old chick with a bleeding toenail. It apparently got ripped on something and my kids noticed it about an hour ago. I've taken the chick out and tried to apply cornstarch and baking soda to stop the bleeding. It has worked for a few minutes and then the toe starts bleeding again. I'm concerned that the other chicks may peck at "her" if I put "her" back in with them. Does anyone know what I can do?

How badly ripped is the toenail? Did it come off, or is it just jolted?
How long has she been away from the other chicks? It's probably not a good idea to put her in with the others until it has healed...I would suggest waiting for the blood to clot then, depending on how bad the injury is, deciding whether to put her back in with the others. For now, mabe just set up a separate little brooder for her.
Pressure works for stopping the bleeding, and make sure she isn't moving too much. If her heart rate is up, then the blood is going to flow quicker, and she may be jolting the injury. Perhaps a bandage that has been soaked in diluted baking soda???

Thanks for replying.
I removed her from the other chicks as soon as we found the bleeding.
It just looks like she caught her toe nail on something and ripped the tip of it.
I clipped the nail to remove the jagged part, hoping that I could pack more baking soda in.
I can see a blood clot on the tip of the toe but I'm wondering if it will get scratched off and start bleeding again.

I don't know what you mean by "jolting" the injury.

Mabe cover the injury with a bandage. Be careful tho, because apparently bandages can stop the blood flow, even when tied loosely. On the other hand, mabe you can just keep an eye on the blood clot, and if it starts bleeding again apply more baking soda and go from there. How old is she?

She's 2 1/2 weeks old, a white silkie and super snuggly.
I'm thinking that I can keep her with me for a little while longer, then put her back with the others and keep an eye on her too see if the bleeding starts again.
