I am hatching chicks and one of them came out of the egg wrong (idk why I will not explain further) and so it's leg is bent out to the side. It can't walk so it can't get the water and food it needs. The chick is less than a week old how should I help it?

This just happened to me a couple months ago. Unfortunately I took it to my vet to be euthanized.

Can you take a picture of the chick even holding it, while it is standing on a flat surface? Slipped tendons, splay leg, vitamin deficiency, and leg bone deformities are all common in chicks.

That happened to me one time. Saddest thing ever. I loved that hen so much, but she eventually died. I also had a duckling that hatched like that- we had to put it down.

There's really nothing you can do for a chicken like that. But the leg is not broke. It's the way it formed in the egg. It's so sad!

But hopefully your case is different then mine, can you include pictures? That would be lots of help!
