chick just hatchd in incubator. It has a bump sticking out of its butt, will it make it? Its pretty small, probably the size of a popcorn seed or two. The chick hatched 5 hours ago and is still soaking wet and not walking or being very active, is this normal? I thought it would be dry by now? Any advice on the bump or how soon it should dry off so i can take it out?

Is it the yolk sac? I would just leave it alone...hopefully it will finish absorbing!

Is it the "belly button" or is it actually up on the butt?? And yes it should be dry in a couple hours. But they dont actually fluff up for a day or so when they start to preen their feathers

the bump is on the butt for sure. This is my first chick to hatch. It still looks wet but maybe i can take it out, i was waiting for it to look fluffy but maybe that takes some time.

Our chick is very small but all her other chicks she came with have gotten so much bigger, we think she came down with coccidiosis, but she finally has wings and (started on) tail feathers, we think she is all better but she’s still very weak and now I found a pimple sized super red (darker red) on her butt anyone know what it might be?? Sorry about blurry photo!
