My last egg to hatch was a cute little chick with a crick in her neck. She looks like she can not straighten out her head and keeps her nose pointed up in the air. I can push her head down to the corect position but as soon as I put her back in the incubator where she is drying.... she is looking at the ceiling again and also a bit upside down. Should I cull her now or will this straighten out. I have hatched about 30 chicks now and this is a first.

I don't know what to tell you.

But hopefully, this bumps it up and someone will come along.

I had that happen in a late hatching BCM chick. She could not move her neck at all and slept most of the time.
I left her in the incubator so she would not get trampled, and just as I thought she would be dead on day 4 from lack of eating/drinking/moving she sat up. It took a few days for her to catch up but after a week looked just like the others.

my friend has a hen with a cinked neck and she does fine looks funny but is about 8 or 9 years old and still lays and egg every few weeks haha

when I wrote this she was about an 4 hours old after hatching. She was even looking behind her upside down.

Very scary.... Last night just when I was getting up the nerve to cull her.... I noticed she looked a little bit better..... so I let her stay in incubator over night.

This morning two more have hatched and all three of them where good. You can tell that she is still not the same as the others but she is finally looking forward instead of up at the ceiling and behind her upside down. That was weird.

So.......now she is with the others..... 7 total so not too crowded. Hopefully she will continue to improve. Thanks everyone !

chick is acting normal now.... about a day old... NO SIGNS at all of the horrible twisted site of yesterday..... Jesus heals ..... even chicks.... He cares about the things we care about.
