I have a 2 month old chick who has diarrhea. He lives in clean and sanitary living conditions with lots of water. I give him medicated chick starter. He doesn`t seem to show ant sighns that he`s sick except for the diarrhea. He has not been vaccinated for any diseases though. Does anyone know what is wrong with him.

Dump the medicated you don't need it. Unmedicated is fine.

If your feeding him anything other than feed and water, stop. A little yogurt won't hurt but don't use it until you see what just the feed and water does. If after a day things seem off then try some yogurt and then wait.

Hope things improve. BTW the first sign of diarrhea is not a crisis. Chicken poop changes with what they eat. If it's a continuous thing then it's a sign of a problem. It's kinda like you. You eat lots of fruit you get diarrhea but you don't worry cuz you know when you eat that cheese pizza your not going to have diarrhea tomorrow.

Thank you so much, do you think it would be alright if i went ahead and gave him the yogurt now. I am not giving him anything except chick feed and water. Should I switch a different brand ( none medicated, too)? What do you think?

I am really big on Probiotics that which are in yogart, but there isn't a lot in there, I have Probiotics capsules, and just sprinkle a little over their food, it is good for them and a few days will put the good bacteria in the gut and the diarrhea will stop most of the time.
